Fabulous Things To Do In School Holidays With The Kids in Liverpool

Summer holidays just seem to fly by and before you know it another school year has begun. There are plenty of fun things to do in school holidays in Liverpool, with events taking place all over the city.

It’s time to get the family together to enjoy a summer of fun, during the longest school holidays of the year.

It’s Disney Quiz Time

When: 9th July

Where: Starbucks Liverpool One

Time to put your Disney knowledge to the test in a fun and family-friendly Disney Quiz.

Taking place in Starbucks, players can enjoy a host of tasty treats and slurp delicious coffees, ice-drinks and smoothies whilst competing.

Prize winners will be rewarded for best team names and, of course, for knowing the most about Disney.

Plus entry proceeds, £1 per player, will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Fun Disney Days Out at Liverpool One

When: 23rd July and 15th August

Where: Disney Store Liverpool One

A variety of fun Disney based activities will be taking place at Liverpool One this summer, and better still they are all totally free.

In celebration of Lion King the movie being released, there will be two workshops inviting little lions to make their own mane. Hosted on the 23rd and 25th July, kids can come along and fashion their very own lion’s mane to take home.

Following the release of Toy Story 4, kids will be asked to come and create “forky”, a personalised trash-loving pal who’ll be their favourite toy for the rest of the summer holidays. Workshops will take place on the 30th July, 1st, 13th and 15th  August.

Finally, bring your little action heroes along to be trained in the art of web-slinging, as the Disney store hosts a special Spider-man training camp on the 6th and 8th of August.

All workshops take place between 2 pm – 4 pm and are totally free to enter, perfect for fun, thrifty things do in school holidays in the heart of Liverpool.

Spend a Day at The Beach

When: When the Sun Has Got His Hat On

Where: Crosby or New Brighton

Grab a bucket and spade, picnic, deck chair and towels and take the family for a scorching day at one of Merseyside’s favourite beaches.

Pop over the water to New Brighton and jump onboard the famous Pirate Ship, The Black Pearl, enjoying ice-cream along New Brighton Promenade and dipping your toes in the famous River Mersey.

Or instead, make your way to the whiter-than-white sands of Crosby Beach and enjoy a day exploring the sand dunes and taking funny pictures with one of the 100 cast iron Anthony Gormley statues dotted all along the beach.

Pop Into a Pop Up Floating Cinema

When: 4th – 10th August

Where: Albert Dock Liverpool

Floating on the waters of Albert Dock this summer you’ll find a huge cinema screen showcasing hit movies for both kids and adults.

Day time shows include Finding Nemo, Jumanji and Matilda, as well as other big screen hits the kids will love. Refreshments will be provided from the surrounding bars and restaurants of Albert Dock including fish and chips, burritos and pizza, as well as some liquid refreshments for the grown-ups.

These sensational screenings will mark the start of a truly special school summer holidays, with family films beginning at 2 pm and tickets costing £8 per child and £14 per adult.

BBC Summer Social

When: 3rd – 4th August

Where: Croxteth Hall

Coming back to Croxteth Hall for another splendid summer event, CBBC will be hosting a fun family festival in Liverpool during the school holidays.

There will be something to do for the whole family and kids of all ages will have a blast. Enjoy watching live music from the likes of Busted and Pixie Lott as well as character appearances from everyone’s favourite CBeebies shows.
