Liverpool’s Irish Festival returns and its set to be the most exciting yet.
Liverpool and Ireland have long had connections since the first Irish migrants arrived at the city port in the 19th Century, we’ve become the second home to many Irish and we celebrate this for 10 days in October.
Taking place between the 13th and 23rd of October the Liverpool Irish Festival celebrates the Irish contribution to Liverpool’s cultural identity and heritage.
The festival is filled with any number of events such as performance, participation, entertainment and education in Irish traditions, music, literature, theatre, and art ensure it is a fantastic event for all of the family. There is a music evening hosted by Mikey Kenny at the Caledonia, Ceílí class, a social hub and materials library at the Everyman Theatre Street Café and an Irish session at the Caledonia which showcases some of the best music and drink in the city.
The Irish Festival has been established for 14 years now and each year it somehow gets better and better.
Venues which are getting involved in the celebrations include FACT, Liverpool Central Library, University of Liverpool, Bluecoat Display Centre, Arts Club and the Everyman Theatre, Street Café and Theatre Bar.
The 10-day festival is set to take place across the city, you’ll need somewhere central to return to after a long day of being cultured which is where we come in.
