We at Signature Living are aiming to rejuvenate and regenerate Cavern Walks in Liverpool – which was once a thriving upmarket shopping centre.
Commemorating and celebrating Liverpool’s rich music heritage, this brand-new music-themed hotel promises to be atmospheric, luxurious, cosy and fun. Guests can expect an electric atmosphere inside the hotel as history and character radiates from the iconic venue.
Signature Living Buys Cavern Walks in Liverpool
In November, we announced that we had acquired Cavern Walks in Liverpool – which was once a thriving, boutique retail centre but has slowly declined in popularity since the opening of Liverpool One and the Metquarter.
Now, just 10 shops remain and they include Boudoir Boutique, Weavers Door, the iconic Vivienne Westwood and Cricket – which is legendary in Liverpool. The Upper floors are now largely empty.
Founder of Signature Living Lawrence Kenwright, is expecting his hotel plans to go before the council’s planning committee later this month. Lawrence is planning to transform and redevelop the once fashionable shopping centre into an amazing hotel, retail and events space; something the hotelier is extremely adept at. In doing so, Signature Living hopes to drive customers and guests back into the area.
“We believe that Signature Living’s expertise at giving large buildings a new reason to live again as hotels is integral to not only adding many guests to the new Cavern Walks in Liverpool, but also ensuring that the tone of the street is geared to a higher standard,” said Lawrence.
When plans are given the go-ahead, the new hotel is set to showcase Cavern Walks at its very best.
A Music-Themed Hotel
Described by Lawrence as a “hidden gem,” Cavern Walks in Liverpool is set to have a combined total of 1,000 beds in numerous hotel rooms dedicated to large scale group accommodation.
The ground floor and mezzanine levels are to be transformed into an upmarket bar and restaurant with a vibrant, white and gold colour scheme. What’s more, a stage area downstairs is set to entertain guests as Signature Living plan to create a fresh buzz around Mathew Street, made famous by The Beatles in the early 1960s.
“How to make best use of Cavern Walks has been a conundrum for a very long time and the building has been 85% empty for seven years. We have a new plan to give the building a new lease of life as an amazing tourist destination,” exclaimed Lawrence recently.
The new hotel, with its opulent rooms and delicious restaurant and bar, promises to showcase Liverpool’s highly celebrated music history. This latest acquisition means that Signature Living has invested over £285m into Liverpool.
We are so excited to see the final result!
