The Great British Gin Festival Tour

When: 4 August 2018
Where: Liverpool Olympia, West Derby Rd

Prepare to have your taste buds tantalised as you try out over 100 different gins from around the world. The UK’s biggest gin festival is landing in Liverpool, complete with sample stands, talks and presentations from producers and cocktail demos from industry experts. Plus, find out how your tipple of choice is created by entering the virtual reality world of a Gin Distillery.

ASBO Cinema: Back to the Future

When: 3 August 2018, 7pm
Where: Camp and Furnace, Greenland St

Reinventing cinema experiences for the Bongo’s Bingo era, ASBO cinema is back giving conventional cinema screening the middle finger. Expect rowdy crowds, confetti cannons, popcorn wars and ASBO cocktails alongside unexpected surprises at this screening of Back to the Future, where phones are allowed and bad behavior is compulsory. Liverpool Rum and Reggae Festival

When: 18 August 2018
Where: Liverpool Olympia, West Derby Rd

The ultimate sunshine festival is heading to Liverpool, lighting up the city with a wide selection of rums and a smooth selection of reggae music. Head down to Liverpool Olympia for carnival dancers, steel drum performances  and traditional Jamaican food alongside the rum and reggae, as a tropical paradise sets up shop in the city for 24 hours.

Rum-connoisseurs will be given a Rum atlas and a Welcome Rum Punch before being invited to take a journey around the world, tasting rare and special craft rums from the West Indies, Cuba, South America and the US. Tickets start at £17.90 and can be bought from the event Facebook page.

Madonna’s Birthday Bash

When: 18 August 2018
Where: Camp and Furnace, Greenland St

The Queen of Pop turns 60 this year and Camp and Furnace are hosting her a party. Get Into the Groove with live music all night from the UK’s Number 1 tribute, Miss Madonna. Express Yourself and join in with performances from Vogue dancers. Find your inner Material Girl with a Madonna makeover at the glitter station and take part in some classic party games with a Madonna twist. Plus, enjoy the Music from resident DJs playing all of Madonna’s biggest hits.

Red Bull Drift Shifters

When: 19 August 2018 to 19 August 2018
Where: Liverpool City Centre

One of the biggest and loudest motorsport events to ever hit the UK is coming to Liverpool. 12 of the world’s best drifters are heading to the city to showcase their skills, ripping through the streets of Liverpool just feet from iconic landmarks, including the Liver Building.

A custom track is set to be built in the city centre, rigged with advanced proximity and speed sensors. Drifting is a motoring discipline that was first popularized in Japan in the 1970s and requires requires precision driving around a track. It’s judged on skill, speed and showmanship as the drivers manoeuvre their way around the features – the closer, the better.

Liverpool International Beatleweek 2018

When: 22-28 August 2018
Where: Across the city

The biggest celebration of The Beatles kicks off again in Liverpool, with 7 days and 7 nights of the music of John, Paul, George and Ringo playing in every corner of the city.

70 of the best Beatles tribute bands from over 20 countries and fans from across the globe will be descending on the Fab Four’s famous home city, marking 50 years of The Beatles’ legendary White Album.
